We may not have the chance to get intimately involved in a community in rural Ethiopia, but right where we live we have an opportunity to make a difference for those around us. Nevertheless, our concern for helping others in the United States should not diminish our focus on helping those around the globe who are suffering tremendously. I think that getting involved in local programs that support the poor and improve communities is the best way to make a difference in the United States.
